Our Work

The work of the Yorkshire Socialist Health Association

NHS and social care outcomes are today the worst in its history, the least efficient with the worst health indicators. We aim to expose the fallacy of capitalist-driven models and propose instead a sound economic model that puts well-being above all else.

The global COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has brought forward the common sense of socialist systems like Universal Basic Income (UBI), and a National Food Service. But this is the tip of an iceberg which is called the Socialist Economy.

The first politician to give a practical voice to this was Aneurin Bevan, in his reflections entitled In Place of Fear (1952). We intend to make these writings the foundation of our strategy.

We adopt as a guiding motto: “Working for the common good.”
